Winter is an excellent time to embark on an adventure. We’ve compiled a list of some of our favourite destinations that are bound to inspire wanderlust this winter, whether you prefer basking in the sun, or fully embracing the cold and cozy season.
Dolomites, Italy
Ski enthusiasts will delight in a winter vacation to the mesmerizing Dolomites in Italy. With its breathtaking scenery, the Italian Alps offer some of the best skiing opportunities in the world. Although the water may not be swimming temperature in the middle of February, there is still plenty to explore here in the mild winter season. Paris, France
A winter trip to Paris is an excellent way to avoid the crowds and enjoy the sites sans line-ups in this stunning European city. The city of love is even more romantic in the winter season with its cozy cafes, endless museums, and stylish boutique hotels. With mild temperatures, Paris can be an excellent walking city at any time of year, and some of the best French classics (think boeuf bourguignon, coq au vin, bouillabaise, a bottle of chateauneuf-du-pape) are all best enjoyed in the comforting enclave of a typical Parisian bistro.
Maldives
This collection of islands sprinkled throughout the tropical Indian Ocean are a paradise for the winter-averse. White-sand beaches and crystalline waters meet world-class dining, upscale spas, and luxury hotels. December through April is the dry season when calm days and clear waters are ideal for sun bathing and snorkelling.
Kyoto, Japan
Kyoto, the cultural capital of Japan, is a beautiful and historical city that's worth visiting any time of year. The city is famous for its Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, palaces, and traditional gardens, giving visitors an opportunity to experience the rich history of Japan. You can spend your days exploring the alleyways of Higashiyama, shopping for handcrafted ceramics, visiting the bustling Nishiki market, or taking part in a traditional tea ceremony.
